To test out the future Android version, developers and consumers of compatible Google Pixel smartphones may now download Android 15 Beta 1. When Google releases its next mobile operating system (OS) upgrade later this year, additional features and capabilities are anticipated. The first beta version of Android 15 offers us a preview of new privacy and security features that will be added to the OS later this year, even though the search engine behemoth is anticipated to reveal them at Google I/O in May.

The first beta version of Android 15 may now be downloaded for the Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6, Pixel Fold, and Pixel Tablet, per information that Google posted on the Android Beta forum on Thursday. Meanwhile, each Wi-Fi network details section now has a new Send device name toggle located under the Privacy menu. It is included under the MAC address randomization setting, and its explanation implies that turning it off will prevent the phone from revealing its name to other Wi-Fi networks.

It looks like Android 15 Beta 1 has two more additions. Under the Default applications option, users can designate a default wallet app (such as Google Wallet or Samsung Wallet). Users of Pixel phones will also get access to new Pixel Weather widgets that can be added to the home screen when they update to Android 15 Beta 1.

Pre-release software should be installed on secondary devices rather than your “daily driver” phone, even if Android 15 Beta 1 is probably more stable than the developer previews the firm previously issued. It is advisable to review Google’s official release notes for Android 15 Beta 1 before installing the most recent beta version on your Pixel phone to ascertain whether problems have been resolved and all issues that are known to exist.
