New Security and Privacy Features for Compatible Google Pixel Phones in Android 15 Beta 1 Have Been Released

To test out the future Android version, developers and consumers of compatible Google Pixel smartphones may now download Android 15 Beta 1. When Google releases its next mobile operating system (OS) upgrade later this year, additional features and capabilities are anticipated. Users can require encryption when connecting to cellular networks or receive notifications when connecting to insecure networks by going to the new “Cellular network security” section under Settings > Security & privacy > More security & privacy after installing Android 15 Beta 1.

Meanwhile, each Wi-Fi network details section now has a new Send device name toggle located under the Privacy menu. It is included under the MAC address randomization setting, and its explanation implies that turning it off will prevent the phone from revealing its name to other Wi-Fi networks.

It looks like Android 15 Beta 1 has two more additions. Under the Default applications option, users can designate a default wallet app (such as Google Wallet or Samsung Wallet). Users of Pixel phones will also get access to new Pixel Weather widgets that can be added to the home screen when they update to Android 15 Beta 1.
